A blue-and-white twisted pheta pinned with a pearl brooch, an ivory shawl bordered in gold, and an indigo dhoti heavy with zari and crystal. The jewellery is turquoise — an unusual choice, and the reason this idol stands apart from every other in the collection — closing on a large blue gem at the chest. A floral-printed cloth shows at the knee, and he rests on a yellow and violet cushion above an ornate gold base.
Kasba Ganpati is Pune's gramdaivat, the city's own presiding deity and the first idol in the Ganeshotsav procession. This interpretation is moulded in Pen from shadu mitti and hand-finished.
