Krishna stands before a beautifully carved jali backdrop in this wooden idol. The intricate latticework echoes the ornate screens of old Indian palaces and temples, framing the Lord in delicate shadow and light. It is a piece full of artistry and devotion.
This murti makes a stunning centrepiece for a mandir or a decorative shelf, admired as much for its craft as its meaning. It suits Krishna devotees who love detailed handwork. The artistry of India brought home to Australia.
